Abstract
The Great Gatsby is one of the best novels by American writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald, which tells the story about the break of Gatsby’s American dream and his love dream. Based upon a detailed analysis of characterization of three men, the paper integrates Nick's unreliable narration and Tom’s representing identity, traces the link between characters. I point out their similarity with the writer’s personality and demonstrate that the three major male characters reflect the different aspects of Fitzgerald’s multiple personality.
