Chapter 1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the Research Study
After China's entry into WTO, various industries have been involving in theenvironment of economic globalization, and exchanges and cooperation with the internationalcommunity have been increasing. This requires that industry personnel should have solidprofessional knowledge, such as English ability and strong ability of information absorption,which can help people timely grasp the new trend of development of science and technologyin the world and actively meet the challenge of the international community. Therefore,students must meet the requirement of society, both to master professional knowledge, and tomaster a foreign language. Only by mastering English, the most important communicationtool, can people grasp the valuable information of science and technology, culture andeconomy timely. Therefore, it is one of the basic qualities for nursing majors to masterEnglish and use English during the nursing process in Vocational College.At present English Teaching in nursing majors in vocational college is still in basicEnglish teaching stage, where only general English is focused on while professional Englishis ignored. Under such circumstances, it is not conducive for nursing personnel to developingtheir overall qualities.

1.2 Significance of the Research
Employment orientation is not only the trend of the international professional Education,but also the navigation lights of China's higher vocational education reform and development.The second international conference on vocational and technical education points out thathigher vocational education is the bridge to the future and what we need is not only a plan torevitalize the vitality and harmonize higher vocational education, but also how to create a newsituation of higher vocational education combined with employment. Under the circumstancesof China's rapid social and economic structure adjustment and technology talent shortage, inJuly 2017, the national conference on vocational education put forward the importantthoughts of employment orientation. It was required that the whole vocational educationshould set the employment of the students and social service as the direction of development.Ministry of education also explicitly pointed out vocational colleges should carry outemployment-oriented reforms. Higher vocational education is to cultivate applied talents ofhigher level.Due to the rapid development of global economic integration and China's accession to theWTO, English ability has become one of the basic skills that technical personnel mustmaster .After the promulgation and implement of the basic requirements to English teachingin higher vocational education, public English teaching in vocational colleges has attractedextensive attention in the society, Modern society has regarded English level as an importantindicator to measure talents.
