Chapter One Introduction引言


本部分介绍第一次在职业学校英语教学的目标只是等待中职学生的特点。本探讨旨在改变近况的高职英语教学的措施和达到高职英语教学目标的探讨。This part introduces first the English teaching goals in vocational schools andthen the characteristics of vocational students.  This study aims at researching on theapproach of changing the present situation of vocational English teaching andreaching the vocational English teaching goals.


1,1 Goals of English Teaching in Vocational Schools在职业学校英语教学的目标
When men walk into the 2"【century, information and digital era arrives. Furtherdemand on English teaching is posed from a communicative tool to use English toexchange information. Chinese Ministry of Education has taken a series of steps tomake revolution on vocational education and teaching in recent years, with the focuson the guidelines of seeing comprehensive quality as foundation and career ability asstandard.According to English Syllabus of Secondary Vocational Schools announced inJanuary 2017 (英语培训手册,2017), three English, teaching goals in vocational schoolsare thought highly of:Language objectives include that students should be helped to go on learningbasic knowledge on the foundation of nine-year compulsory education and furtherdevelop language skills including listening, speaking, reading and writing. They are tobe taught communicative and practical sentences to foster communicative competence.Gradually they are able to express simple daily dialogues in English and formapplication ability of professional English. So teachers try their best to avoid wastingvaluable efforts and focus on the importance of classroom activities.Emotion and strategy objectives contain that learners' intrinsic motivation beingaroused and interest enhanced. They should be helped to master suitable learningstrategies and develop good habits to enhance autonomy learning ability. Withparticipation consciousness to be encouraged and mutual cooperation spirit to bestrengthened, learners can set up their confidence in English learning.Culture and value objectives are to lead students to understand the differencebetween Chinese and Western opinion, to educate right feeling, attitude and valueconcept.So the English teaching goals of vocational schools focus on cultivating millionsof qualified laborers for society, which are different from those of high schools.Vocational English should be basic, practical and communicative with professionalfeatures, suitable for the ability of vocational students. For these reasons, classroomteaching activities have become basic and important approaches which integrate theEnglish language instrumental property with humanity.
