1.1 Importance of Turn-taking
With the development of world economy and the increasing communicationbetween countries, those college graduates with higher communicative competence, especially in the language of English, are becoming more popular. The need of societymakes a direction for college education, that is, to educate more excellent graduateswith enough major knowledge as well as a communicative competence in English. Inview of need of development of society, college English teaching adjusts its teachingdirections. With the guidance of college English syllabus, college English teaching changesits teaching direction constantly to develop students abilities in using the language, but problems still exist in the teaching process. For a long time, the college Englishteaching in our country is described as “time consuming but with low efficientproduction”. Even after years of studying English, most English learners are onlygood at memorizing words, analyzing sentence structures; they can’t expressthemselves efficiently in English. The above phenomenon has a deep relationshipwith the ways teachers exert in English teaching class. In current college Englishteaching, the way college English teachers resort to in class is still the traditionalteacher-centered method. The disadvantage of this method is that the focus of theclass is analyzing words and phrases themselves, neglecting their efficient usage. Thetraditional force-feeding method of learning a foreign language makes students losetheir interests of learning with a great pressure, which does a great harm to students’learning creativity, resulting in an unbalance between input and output of the language, lacking enough communication between teachers and students.
