1.1 Necessity of the research
With China's entrance into The World Trade Organization (WTO), Chineseforeign trade and the constant increase of other economic activities, technicalcooperation and cultural exchange with foreign countries become more and morecommon. Not only many Chinese go abroad to do business, but also many foreignerscome to China for sightseeing and investment. In this situation, the opportunitiesavailable to us for frequent contact with foreigners either in business context or forgeneral interest lead to the increasing demand for language communication. As avehicle of international business transaction, business English is thus widely used inevery field of our daily life and routine duties.With the business transition among countries increasing dually, business Englishhas attracted more and more interest and awareness in the past twenty years. As aresult, many language schools through the world have started to provide businessEnglish courses. According to Mark Ellis and Christine Johnson, there are over 100schools of this nature in the UK alone; there are more than 150 business English titleson UK publishers' lists; examining boards offer examinations of business English; thebusiness English special interest group has over 1500 members from around theworld. (Ellis & Johnson, 2017, 11) From these statistics, we can see that businessEnglish has been at the center of more and more attention in the language teachingand learning aspects.

1.2 Purpose of the thesis
The purpose of this thesis is to design a course for the learners who want toimprove their English and increase their business knowledge. So far, as the globaleconomy is growing, people are paying more attention to Business English, andregarding it as an important skill in career. People have more and more opportunitiesto do business with foreigners, and it is more useful to communicate and negotiatewith foreigners or foreign companies in English in the business area. So we canpredict that Business English is one of the most important career skills now. At thesame time, more and more employees want to improve their business English. In thecurrent career situation, you get much more opportunities to get a good job and salaryif you are good at English. Certainly, you can learn more about the world and knowmore interesting cultures in the world if you know English. English has become arequired ability in dairy work.Above all, the needs to learn English for people involved in internationalbusiness have increased a great deal. As a result, the ESBP training courses becomepopular. Being a multi-functional English training approach, ESBP is also equallyuseful for individuals or enterprises who are eager to improve their English languageskills, to increase their business English knowledge, and the most important, toimprove their language communicating skills in their business activities.
