摘要
颜色词作为一种视觉效果,人们对它的感知应该是一致的。但是,由于世界各民族语言表达受地理环境,民俗风情,英语论文题目,思维方式,宗教信仰,社会制度,文学艺术及其生活方式的异同的作用,不同民族语言表达颜色词语多寡不一,分类各异,颜色词也表现各民族独特的“个性”。英汉两个民族对各种颜色词在视觉上和心理上所产生的联想,象征意义,蕴含的寓意不尽相同,同中有异,异中有同。因此,了解这些颜色词及它们的联想象征意义和蕴涵的寓意在中西方的差异点,有利于我们更好地了解中西方的文化,并促进中西文化交流。
通过对比探讨,论文最终得出结论:在英汉语言中,颜色词紫色有着很多相似的用法,如紫色都与皇室紧密相联,英语论文网站,紫色事物也成为了尊贵地位的象征;又如紫色在英汉语言中都被用来形容人在极度愤怒或者生气时面部的变化。同时,由于中西方文化在历史传统、宗教信仰、感知能力、思维和生活习惯等方面的诸多不同,紫色在英汉语言中有诸多不同含义及用法。通过探析造成这些异同的文化原因,可以尽量避免在英汉交流中因为颜色词的不同含义而产生的误解

Abstract
Color terms are an interesting and important field of study in modern linguistics. There are various colors in nature and in daily life. As a relatively independent system, color terms have been acknowledged by linguisticians. There are similarities among the color terms in different languages. For example, color terms in Chinese “赤橙黄绿青蓝紫” have the corresponding expressions in English “red, orange, yellow, green, black, blue, purple”. However, owing to historical and national differences, people have different usage and interpretation of the same color. In other words, a color has different connotations in cultures. Thus, the color term purple have distinct meanings in the Chinese cultures and the western culture. Thus, it is of great significance to make comparison and contrast between purple and 紫 in order to get a deeper understanding of this color word and even two different cultures.
This thesis firstly introduces the color term “purple” in English and “紫” in Chinese respectively then make comparison and contrast between them finding out similar connotations of “purple” and “紫”. And then by making a factorial study through the different meanings of the same color word, this thesis aims to find out the influence factors of different meanings of color term purple in English and Chinese. As a result, the conclusion of this paper will make contribution to reducing the errors in comprehension and obstacles in expressions which are resulting from the different meanings of color words in different languages.
