Abstract
In the 1960s, feminists have developed to the second stage. The film as a kind of art has entered the feminists’ eyes. After political practices and cultural practices, a new generation of Western feminists began to hope to promote the development of feminism through movies. For the American film and media industry, the 1960s was a turning point, a growing number of movies and TV shows began to describe a group of independent, brave, stoic image of women.
Thelma and Louise is a Hollywood feminist movie, written by Callie Khouri and directed by Ridley Scott. Thelma and Louise fully reflects the development of feminism in the 1990s. By analyzing this film, we can have a further understanding of the development of feminism in American culture and society.
This paper is divided into three parts: The first part introduces the movie Thelma and Louise and its background, including a brief Introduction to Thelma and Louise and male-dominated Society both in reality and movies. The second part introduces the development of feminism, including the definition of feminism and three waves of feminism. The third part is the analysis of feminism in Thelma and Louise, including the analysis of personalities and actions of Thelma and Louise, the analysis of the end of the film, the analysis of the classic lines and the analysis of central theme of the film.

二十世纪六十年代,女权主义已经发展到了第二阶段。电影作为一种艺术悄无声息地进入了女权主义者的视野。经过了政治实践和文化实践,英语论文,新一代的西方女权主义者开始寄希望于通过电影来推动女权主义的发展。关于美国电影和传媒行业,20世纪60年代是一个转折点,越来越多的电影和电视节目开始描绘一群特立独行,勇敢,坚忍的女性形象。
《末路狂花》是由好莱坞制作,英语毕业论文,Callie Khouri编写, Ridley Scott导演的一部女权主义电影。末路狂花充分体现了女权主义在20世纪90年代的发展。通过略论这部电影中,我们可以进一步了解美国文化和社会下女权主义的发展。
