Abstract
As a kind of language in informal form, taboo language becomes more and more important and popular on different occasions and is accepted by people in large numbers. About the study of taboo language, the scholars from China or western countries have attempted to do research into definition, feathers and application. Different cultural backgrounds create different meanings of taboo language. In the same situation, people on different occasions are required in different utility of taboo language.
This thesis is divided into four parts, the first part attempts to explore the origin and background history, the second part mainly studies the category, analyzes the characteristic and concretes application of taboo language from the aspect of cultural discrepancy, the third part concentrates on the similarities and differences between Chinese and English taboo language, and the fourth part is the disciplines that we should pay attention to and obey, and the methods we can use to avoid some mistakes and embarrassment, and the meanings of learning taboo language.
At the same time, it is helpful for us to understand the language habit and pragmatics deeper between China and western countries according to the study of taboo, which aims at the reduction of obstacle in the actual communication.

摘 要
禁忌语虽然作为语言文化中不是很正式的一种语言形式，但在当今社会的交流中显得越来越重要，并且广泛流行于各种场合，禁忌语文化也越来越被人们所接受。对于禁忌语的探讨，无论是从定义、特征还是用途方面，中外学者都进行了很多试探性的探究。
在不同的文化背景下，禁忌语所蕴含的意义不同，同样，英语论文范文，在不同的场合对禁忌语应用的要求也不尽相同。
本文总共分为四个部分，第一部分着重讲禁忌语的起源和相关的背景历史；第二部分主要略论探讨禁忌语的分类、特征以及在不同文化背景下的具体应用；第三部分主要讲述禁忌语在中西方文化对比中的差异；最后一部分主要略论在日常生活中使用禁忌语时所需要注意的问题以及如何避免犯不必要的错误。
与此同时，通过对禁忌语的探讨也有助于我们加深对中外语言习惯和语用的了解，以减少实际交际时出现的障碍。
