Abstract:
This topic take the Chinese and English languages, different understanding of the word "dragon" as a beginning, make a further research on the word "dragon" difference culture connotations and cultural, social, political, religious reasons. And use it as a breakthrough, the comparative study of animal words in Chinese and Western culture connotation is different. So that readers of the two languages and cultural environment have a full understanding, in order to learn English well and make better cross-cultural communication.

本课题从中英两种语言对“龙”一词的不同认知入手,进一步探讨“龙”一词不同的文化内涵及其文化、社会、政治、宗教方面的成因。并以此为突破口,英语论文,对动物类词汇在中西方文化中不同内涵进行对比探讨。使读者对两种语言的文化环境有充分的认识,从而学好英语,更好地进行中西方跨文化交际。

Chapter 1: Introduction
As we all know, language is a social phenomenon, carrying rich culture connotations. Word is the most basic and the most active component of language. Words not only reflect the development and change of culture, but also directly reflect the cultural differences. Therefore, it is necessary to study cultural meaning of words. Animals are close to the human life, thus forming a lot of words related to animal. Animal words are also formed under the specific cultural backgrounds. Different cultural backgrounds of China and the Western countries, give different associations to the same kind of animal, thus producing various culture-connotations of the animal words.[1]
There is a special animal called “long” in Chinese, which is always translated to “dragon” in English. In fact, the Chinese word “long” in China and the English word “dragon” in Western countries have great differences.
