Chapter 1 Introduction
A wedding is a ceremony where two individual persons want to get united in front of the family, relatives and friends. Wedding customs or traditions will vary greatly among regions or countries, cultural backgrounds, religions, ethnic groups as well as social classes. Weddings not only show the outlook of the social life, but also demonstrate the cultural content of a nation and some ethnic values. The English word, ‘wed’ is originated from the ancient Greek word for the meaning of “pledge”, which is exactly what a wedding is.No matter what country the wedding ceremony is taken place in or no matter what culture it belongs to. Weddings ought to pledge one person to another. There are few acts that people perform which can be compared with the act of marriage which is pretty purer and more sacred. To some extent, marriage can be regarded as the strongest bond in the world.
