从模因论角度看经典台词的复制与传播[英语论文]

摘要

本文利用模因论对广泛流行的经典台词进行深入剖析。模因作为文化传递的基本单位,通过非遗传方式、特别是模仿而得以传递,英语论文,模因靠复制而生存。根据模因的概念和生命周期理论,经典台词可分为模因型台词和非模因型台词。论文着重讨论模因型台词复制传播的方式,略论其成为强势模因的内在机制与外在因素,旨在揭示模因型台词流行的原因,从而为观众更好地理解、欣赏与运用经典台词提供有益的启示;为打造强势模因型台词提供新的思路。

Abstract

Popular classic lines are discussed from the perspective of memetics. Meme, as a basic unit of cultural transmission, by non-genetic means, especially by way of imitation get transmitted. Meme can survive only by way of duplication. In light of concept and life cycle of memes, classic lines fall into two kinds: memotype lines and non-memotype lines. By discussing the transmitting methods of memotype lines, and elaborating the internal and external factors of successful classic lines, this paper aims to reveal the reasons for the prevalence of classic lines, which may enable audience to have a better understanding, appreciation and application of classic lines. And simultaneously, this research is expected to inspire more impressive and popular lines for classic works.

1 Introduction
Nowadays, people are quite familiar with the phenomenon that classic lines are frequently used in many occasions. For example, when we communicate with others, we use classic lines unconsciously. We also tend to quote classic lines while we are speaking and writing. Besides, classic lines are often applied to many other occasions, such as in advertisements, news and so on. According to Yao Jing(Yao Jing, 2017), Classic lines are indispensable factors for the creation of good screenplays which have distinct language features. For instance, it is easy for people to understand the lines whose language is simple, but humorous and vivid. Apart from this, most of the classic lines have a strong sense of rhythm. Classic lines, as a kind of special language phenomenon, attract many scholars’ interest from the perspectives of linguistics, rhetoric, culture, cognition and pragmatics. Zhang Hongguo (Zhang Hongguo, 2017:89), as a representative of linguistics studies, applies the Theory of Conversational Implication introduced by H. P. Grice to his thesis by analyzing the language characteristics of the classic lines of Westward Journey.
