Abstract
This paper endeavors to analyze the reasons of vocabulary selection ambiguity in news report with the metapragmatic awareness principle through reading China Daily from May 2017 to October 2017 and interviewing the English majors in a key university. This paper emphasizes the impact of metapragmatic awareness in the process of news translation from words aspect. According to Verschueren(2017), there are three procedures: variability, negotiability and adaptability when translators make choices of the words in the news production process. Metapragmatic awareness is the translators' reflexive awareness when they choose the meaning of word in the language usage process. It is a dynamic process that translators select language to express the news. In this process, readers understand the news differently due to the translators' different degrees of salience so that cross-cultural communication failure appears. This paper analyses the impact of metapragmatic awareness on semantic selection from the angle of translators. Finally, this paper attempts to put forward some solutions.

本论文通过阅读2017年5月到2017年10月China Daily并以一所重点学院的英语系学生为样本进行访谈，结合元语用意识理论略论造成新闻报道中语义选择误解的原因。本文主要应用Verschueren的元语用意识理论并结合新闻特定的创制过程，从词汇层面探索新闻翻译过程中元语用意识的作用。根据Verschueren的元语用意识理论，在对外新闻的创制过程中，译者在选择词汇语义时，一般要经过三个步骤即语言的变异、商讨和顺应。而元语用意识则是语言使用过程中人们对意义做出不同顺应的意识反应。新闻译者选择语言表达意义的过程时一个动态过程，这一过程因人们顺应语言的意识程度不同而作用新闻语篇的理解，英语论文，从而会使新闻受众产生不同的理解，造成交际误解。本文不仅略论了元语用意识对语义选择的作用，并提出了相应的解决策略。

1 Introduction
With the development of science and technology, newspapers, cell phones and computers are more and more popular in our daily life. People desire to acquire more information to develop their career and academic studies. China, as a developing country, needs to produce more news to introduce itself to the whole world. The normal people often read abroad news in their mother languages. Thus they can only get the "second--hand " information from translation. So translators play a very important role in the process of news translation. This paper aims to study the impact of the metapramatic awareness on the semantic choice to improve the cross-cultural communication and decrease the communication failure. Ma Zhongcai(2017) holds that pragmatics lays the theoretical foundation for the translations. Leech(1981) believes that semantics is a very important branch of the pragmatics and plays a crucial role on the studies of pragmatics. The study of the semantic choice in the news report from the metapragmatic awareness is meaningful for the cross-cultural communication.
