Abstract：With China’s rising international status and the increase in cultural exchange among countries, the role of English has always been further strengthened, English has become a main communication language in China’s external exchanges with other countries. Nowadays, domestic colleges have more focused on students’ oral English learning. College Student’s English Speech Contest is a good platform which can test students’ oral English learning achievements and arouse their interests in oral English learning. It also plays a very important role in improving the students’ comprehensive abilities in English. This paper takes 2017 CCTV Cup English Speaking Contest as the research background, discussing body language such as gestures, eye contacts and facial expressions on the basis of multimodal discourse analysis. Therefore, through multimodal discourse analysis, this paper aims at emphasizing the importance of body language in College Students’ English Speech Contest and solving some existing problems during using body language. |
