1.1 Background of the Study
Over a long period of time, the traditional teaching and learning style plays adominant role in learning English in Senior High School. There has been an overwhelmingphenomenon that traditional English teaching lays much an emphasis on the teachingmethods but neglects the learning methods; that pays attention to the final score butoverlooks the learning process; that attaches great importance to knowledge transmissionbut ignores the cultivation of the students’ comprehensive ability. In senior schools, thiskind of duck-stuffing English teaching produces passive learners, and ineffective teachingand learning. For a long time,the typical Chinese learner has been characterized as passive,dependent and lacking in initiative (Icy Lee, 1998, cited in Pierson, 1996).The new roundof curriculum reform for basic Education needs the reform of the traditional style.According to the National English Curriculum Standard, learners’ autonomy is requiredboth as an educational goal to achieve and as a personal ability to develop. After a longtime of exploration by some experts and teachers, a new teaching model called thelearning-plan guided teaching was put forward eventually.In brief,英语论文范文,Learning plan teaching is one where students first learn, teachers then teachand finally teachers and students are involved in the learning process. In the teachingprocedure,learning plan,which is also called“the guided learning plan” means teachersguide students to learn. 1.2 Purpose in choosing the topic
Plan guidance-style teaching refers to the learning plan as the carrier, the guidance asthe method, teachers’ guidance as the leading role, students’ independent learning as themain body, teachers and students work together to accomplish the task of teaching.
