1.1Background of the study
With the flourishing of the Chinese economy as well as the increasingcooperation across every boarder and time zone, English has become a vital languageas a tie of connecting and linking, and moreover greater attention even significanceand value have been attached to it. Ever since then, Chinese people, ranging fromlittle children to the aged people are all engaged in learning it as a second language. Itseems to all that mastering excellent English has devoted a crucial and essential factorto communication and cooperation all over the world. English course is provideddaily and regarded as a rather compulsory course at schools. As is known to all,among the four basic language learning skills--- listening, speaking, reading andwriting, writing is put into the position as the most difficult one to acquire or learn. Bywriting, we mean the skills that one is capable of writing a composition in English andat the same time expressing his or her idea clearly and fluently. Together withspeaking skills, writing skills belongs to the category of output. Once mentioning‘output’, ‘input’ is inevitably worthy of mentioning. As can be seen, the listening andreading skills belong to the field of ‘input’ that specifically requires students to collector gather information form either spoken form---utterances or written form---texts.Whereas writing skills, it fixes its attention on another direction where students needto be the subjects who are supposed to giving information instead of receiving.

1.2 Purpose of the study
The current situation of senior high school English writing really annoys people.Seen from the immediate effect, the scores that senior high school students get are farbeyond satisfaction in the college entrance examination. The writing skills and theagile use of language can be hardly sensed during the interaction between the writerand the reader. It can just meets the needs of letting someone else be aware of what isbeing talked about without much extra emotion effects. Students seem to be used tousing thinking methods and process of native language in producing an Englishwriting, which may cause misunderstanding of the ideas as well as culturalcommunication. Normally speaking, students’ writing work is very poor, especially atexpressing the messages and information they have tried to convey. There is just aminority of students who are capable of arranging the work in a logical and cohesiveway. But seldom notice the different types of literature, whether the objective is anarrative or an argumentative and the features of various themes. So digging out thereasons that cause those problems is extremely urgent somehow. At the same time, it’squite necessary to find out what are those specific mistakes or even errors committedby the students. The more specific and concrete the mistakes and errors are, the easierand effective our finding the reasons will be.
