1.1 Problems in Chinese College English Learner's Writing
The aim of English teaching courses is to cultivate and develop learners' competences in four basic skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, among which writing skill is usually considered to be the most difficult one to master. Writing is regarded as an effective and indispensable tool to exchange information. It is via writing that a person can communicate avariety of messages to a close or distant,know or unknown readers. Such communication is extremely important in the modem world. ⑴ So, the ability to write in English is considered to bean important objective of foreign language teaching and learning . While, writing competence is also the most difficult one to sharpen. Walters points out that writing is the last and perhaps the most difficult students leam. And this is especially true with Chinese English learners in college. Although most of college students have learned English with formal instructions in schools for at least 6 years, they still find English writing is a quite difficult task. They spend much time and energy in reading the model composition, reciting structural models and practicing writing, but still can not produce a high quality composition. On the other hand, the teachers engaged in College English teaching take great pains in scoring and correcting their students' compositions. They spend much time and efforts to help their student correct the grammatical and spelling mistakes. In writing training, they instruct the students to work out an outline and then write accordingly. But this kind of effort doesn't yield much satisfactory result. According to the data published by the College English Test Center, the average score for thewriting part is around 7.5 points(the total score is 15) for the past five years. This data is embarrassing and frustrating. But it partly proves that in the relatively advanced stage of writing( in college stage), the competence to write effectively and proficiently is less related to learners' vocabulary and their grasp of grammatical rules. Even they can produce acomposition with few spelling and grammatical mistakes, the composition can not be graded as ahigh-quality one. The competence to write has much more to do with the ability to organize the textand make it a unified and coherent whole.
1.1中国大学生英语口语的写作中存在的问题
英语教学课程的目的是培育和发展学习者的能力四项基本技能:听,说,阅读和写作,其中写作技巧通常被认为是最困难的人掌握。写作被视为一个有效的和必不可少的工具,进行信息交换。它是通过书面形式,一个人可以传递各种消息的近距离或远距离,知道的或未知的读者。现代世界中,这样的沟通是非常重要的。 ⑴所以,写英文的能力,被认为是豆外语教学与学习的重要目标。同时,英语论文范文,写作能力也是最困难的磨砺。沃尔特斯指出,写作是在最后,也许是最困难的学生易学。这是中国英语学习者在大学尤其如此。虽然大多数大学生都学习英语,在学校正式说明至少6年,他们仍然可以找到英语写作是一个相当艰巨的任务。他们花了很多时间和精力在读取模型组成的结构模型,背诵和练习写作,但至今仍无法生产高品质的组合物。另一方面,从事大学英语教学的教师煞费苦心,在得分和纠正学生作文。他们花了很多时间和努力,以帮助他们的学生纠正语法和拼写错误。在写作训练中,他们指导学生制定出一个大纲,然后相应地写。但这种努力并没有产生太大的令人满意的结果。根据大学英语四级考试中心公布的数据,写作部分的平均得分是7.5分(总得分是15 )在过去五年。这个数据是尴尬和沮丧。但它在一定程度上证明,在相对先进的写作(大学阶段) ,的有效写能力和熟练阶段学习者的词汇和语法规则的把握是不相关的。他们甚至可以产生一个组成几处拼写和语法错误的,不能进行分级组成原料选材,英语论文,配料,熔制,成型,退火的素质之一。写有能力做更多的事的能力来组织文字并使其成为一个统一和连贯的整体。
