Abstract:
With the development of globalization, a great number of English films are swarming into Chinese market. The film title is one indispensable part of a film, so film title translation is a significant activity. A good film title not only can convey the film’s content to the audience but also can attract people to the cinema. Thus, film titles have a direct and great effect on the box office of films. Taiwan is part of China, but the culture of Taiwan is not completely the same as Chinese Mainland because of history, geography and other factors. The translation of the movie title is one difference between Taiwan and Chinese Mainland. This paper attempts to discuss the differences of film title translation in the two places and try to find the causes that lead to this situation from Skopos Theory.

随着全球化进程的加快，英语论文题目，越来越多的英语电影涌入中国市场。电影名是电影不可分割的一部分，所以电影名的翻译是一项极为重要的活动。一个好的电影译名不仅能够向观众传递片中信息，英语毕业论文，同时还能吸引观众走进电影院。因此电影名翻译对票房有着直接并且重要的作用。虽然台湾是中国的一部分，但是由于地理历史等因素其文化与大陆不尽相同，所以在翻译方面也有异同。本文尝试从目的论角度讨论双方电影名翻译的差别并且找出导致这种现象的原因。

1 Introduction
In modern society, many people are attracted by the film because of its unique charms. And with the development of the intercultural exchanges between China and other countries, many people can come into contact with foreign films easily. There is an old saying: Look at the cover first when you read a book, and read the film title first when you read the newspaper. Likewise, people read the film title first before they watch a film. A good title can become an attractive point which can encourage people to watch the film. And then it can be a tool to pull the box office. Therefore, the film title translation plays an important role in this aspect.
