摘要
在经济全球化的大背景下，国家之间在经济、政治、文化与社会诸多领域进行着日益频繁的沟通与合作。作为沟通桥梁之一的口译人员也越来越受到各界的关注。自从我国成功加人世贸组织、获得2017年奥运会和2017年世博会的主办权之后，我国对口译员的需求明显上升。但口译市场缺口很大，英语论文题目，真正有水平、受过专业训练的翻译人才很少，高水平的翻译大约只占总数的5%甚至更少。而口译流畅性又是衡量口译质量的一个重要指标，所以本文重点关注作用口译流畅性的停顿现象。
本文以探讨英汉交替传译过程中停顿现象为主，通过设计实验（以X大学X届英语系学生对X年上海中级口译口试材料的翻译录音为样本）、略论样本和笔记同时结合对学生的问卷调查来尝试略论学生在翻译过程中出现停顿的主要原因，并结合相关理论（如Gile记忆模型）提出控制不利于翻译的停顿现象的措施，以期实现英语系学生交传能力的提升。

Abstract
Under the background of economic globalization, communication and cooperation among countries in the economic, political, cultural and social fields are increasingly frequent. As a bridge between two languages, interpreters receive more and more attention from all circles of the society. Since the successful entry into the WTO and win of the hosting rights of the 2017 Olympics and the 2017 World Expo, our country has had an increase in demand for interpreters. However, interpreting market suffers from insufficiency in professionally-trained translators, who account for only about 5 percent or even less. Because of the fact that fluency is an important indicator of the quality of interpretation, this thesis focuses on the phenomenon of pause, which has an impact on fluency.
This paper studies the phenomenon of pause in the process of consecutive interpreting. It aims at figuring out the main reasons causing the pause through the experiment with the juniors majored in English from University. The experiment material is the record from the mid-level of interpretation of SIA (Shanghai Interpretation Accreditation). By analyzing the samples, notes and questionnaires collected from the participants, it gets closer to the real reason behind the phenomenon. Under the guide of some theories, like Efforts Model proposed by Daniel Gile, the thesis proposes solutions to control improper pause, so as to improve the abilities and competence of English majors.
