Abstract:
This paper tries to analyze the translation methods of the public signs from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence, firstly finding out the translation errors, such as: using wrong words, Chinese English, word-for-word translation and so on. Under the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory, the author puts forward the methods to solve the problems of public signs translation, including avoiding death translation and free translation, stylistic equivalence, principle of simplicity, accurate and idiomatic expressions, etc.

本文试图从功能对等论的角度出发对汉语公示语英译措施进行略论,首先略论找出了公示语的英译的错误，英语论文范文，比如词语误用，中国式英语，死译等等。 在功能对等翻译理论的指导下，笔者提出了解决公示语翻译问题的措施，英语论文，包括避免死译和随意翻译，文体对等，简单准则，准确与习惯表达等。

1. Introduction
With the development of china’s economy and acceleration of opening up, friendly exchanges and economic cooperation have grown up quickly. International communications become more frequent. Public signs are important parts of international metropolis, the language environment and human environment of tourist destination. The public signs act as a name card of a country. Public signs in English are essential to international tourists. Therefore, English translation of public signs increasingly important. English translation of the public signs is a kind of opening and directly facing the public in order to achieve certain communicative purposes. But now, because of the lack of uniform planning control, the translation outcome is not positive. The statics and dynamic indications, the promoting, directing, compelling and restricting effects are the functional features of the language applied on the translation. It could work more effectively. However, there are many different errors in our translation of the public signs in some cities; some misconception also caused confusion in the translation, for a lack of correct grasp the principal of pragmatic equivalence, which leads to e information deviation, information misunderstanding and Information communication barriers-pragmatic failure. This paper tries to analyze the translation problems from the perspective of Functional Equivalence, by Investigating the language features and pragmatic functions, to help put forward the translation principal and methods.
