1. Introduction
As one of the greatest invention of the 20th century, the Internet has played a huge role in the process of development of English language, and English itself has been employed as a most important communicative language both in the real world and the virtual world. The majority of emails, mailing list, bbs and forum use English for discussion and communication and this supports the development of English greatly. On the other hand, English net neologisms from the virtual world have already entered the real life and influenced the change and development of other languages.
The world keeps changing, so does language. Though greatly exposed to English language, native speakers and second language learners must take conscious efforts to keep their vocabulary from being obsolete. When people chat online or visit foreign websites or even read China Daily, many net neologisms have already entered these media and frequently appear. So a comprehensive study of how net neologisms are created, how to translate them into native language, and what are the criteria while translating are of great necessity for us second language learners.
