摘要
新闻作为传媒的一种方式,现如今被人们用作了解世界时事的渠道。在语法以及用词上,新闻英语都有其特点。为使新闻内容有趣、吸引人眼球,大量潮流词的使用使得新闻英语区别于其它运用英语。由于存在着中外文化异同因素以及译者所采用的不同英语新闻汉译措施。中国读者关于英语新闻中的潮流词的理解也将受到作用。在关于翻译策略的讨论中,该采用归化或是异化策略一直是讨论的焦点。本篇论文旨在于讨论从跨文化交际的角度看新闻英语中潮流词的汉译措施及策略。

Abstract
News English, as a means of publicity, is now widely used by people to know what is happening around the globe. News English has its own characteristics at the usage of words and grammar. To make the news attractive and interesting, the use of buzzword can be one of its symbols which makes it different from other kinds of written English forms. The translation strategy chosen by the translator on translating English news into Chinese will influence Chinese readers’ understanding of the original meaning of buzzwords. In the discussion of translation strategies, the use of domestication or foreignization strategy has been the focus of discussion. This thesis is aiming on discussing the translation strategy of English buzzwords from the perspective of cross-cultural communication.

1. Introduction
1.1Background
English news reports are required to use the least words to describe news effectively. In order to make the news reports specific and interesting, authors are good at using figures of speech. Buzzwords are frequently used in English news as one figure of speech nowadays. Meanwhile, translators should concern about how to translate these English buzzwords in a more acceptable way for Chinese readers. The translation strategy on English buzzwords shifts between foreignization and domestication.
Some translators would choose the domestication strategy in their translations to insure that most of Chinese readers can understand the translated version. But at the same time, foreign features will lose. Other translators tend to translate English buzzwords in a foreignizing way so that foreign cultures can be introduced to China effectively. From the perspective of cross cultural communication, it’s necessary to convey foreign cultures in English buzzwords into China.
