摘要：
本文阐述了学习兴趣在英语学习中的重要性，针对高职院校学生英语学习的近况以及高职英语教学中存在的问题，英语论文，研讨如何在英语教学中应用多种方式来提高学生学习英语的兴趣，例如营造积极轻松的课堂环境、应用多种教学手段、帮助学生树立信心、建立良好的师生联系以及加强师资力量的建设等，从而提高英语学习成绩以及英语教学质量。

Abstract:
This paper aims at elaborating the importance of interest in English learning. The author introduces the current situation of students in vocational colleges in English learning and problems in English teaching, and then proposes to enhance students’ interest in English learning through various means in English teaching, such as creating active and relaxed class environment, using various means of teaching, helping students build up confidence, developing excellent relationship between teachers and students, strengthening the building of the organization of faculty and so on. Through these means, the author hopes to help improve the students’ academic records and also the quality of English teaching.

1. Introduction
The 21st century is a time of Internet, globalization and global village. It is also a time that needs more communication and cooperation. As the most widely used language tool for global communication, English is more and more important, and it has become the basic need of this period. As a result, a large number of schools begin to focus on foreign language teaching. With the rapid development of economy and acceleration of international pace of our country, the demand for inter-disciplinary talents that have the strong abilities of both professional action and practical English is more and more urgent. Higher vocational education shoulders the task of training various fields of applicated expertise in culture, production, management, service and so on. The goal of vocational education is to foster special expertise in technical production, management services and other areas. Therefore, English teaching should highlight the applicability and usefulness. In 2017, the Education Department implies that the aim of English teaching in vocational colleges (called VC below) is different from ordinary technological academy and undergraduate education. The department emphsizes that the main aim of English teaching in VC is to foster persons with ability of practical English, so that they can serve the economic society directly. And then, there arises a problem to be solved, that is how to choose proper teaching materials and motivate the students’ interest in learning English according to the specialty of English teaching and students in VC. In this epoch, the traditional English teaching mode can no longer apply to modern students in VC, because they are quicker in thinking and they have broadening horizons. In this situation, it is much harder to teach. On the other hand, the cultural background of European countries is totally different from that of our country. So there is great difference between English and Chinese. And this certainly brings a lot of difficulty for Chinese students to learn English well. It is never an easy thing to exclude the interference of the mother tongue and master authentic English. Therefore, it is essential to enhance their interests.
