Abstract and Key Words

Abstract: This thesis aims to study the theory and practice of games in stimulating pupils’ interest in learning English. By exploring the methods of arousing pupils’ learning interest, and improving the efficiency of primary English-dialogue teaching, it clarifies the status and role of game teaching in primary school English-dialogue teaching. The conclusion of the thesis is that English game teaching is an effective method, which meets the characteristics of children’s physical and mental development, and fully respects the laws of children’s physical development. It also fully considers the main factors of education and teaching, integrate many educational concepts of new courses, develop pupils’ learning and desire for knowledge, and finally improves the efficiency of primary school English-dialogue teaching.

摘要: 本文旨在探讨游戏在激发小学生学习兴趣方面的理论和实践,英语论文英语毕业论文,通过研讨激发小学生英语学习兴趣的措施,提高小学英语对话教学的效率,阐明了游戏教学法在小学英语对话教学中的地位和影响。本文的结论是英语游戏教学是一种有效的措施,它适合孩子们身心发展的特点,充分尊重儿童的心理发展规律,它还全面考虑教育教学中的主要因素,融合了新课程的诸多教育理念,培养了他们的学习兴趣和求知欲,最终也提高了小学英语对话教学的效率。

1.Introduction
    Since the year of 2017, English has become a required lesson in the primary school from Grade 3. It has been estimated that there were about 8 million primary school pupils studying English in 1998, and that number has been growing rapidly, with an increase of one million every year since 1994. From these numbers we can find that more and more pupils are learning English, and learning English is undoubtedly becoming more and more important, and the teaching to English dialogue is the important part of English teaching in primary school
    When offering a foreign language at school, we are aiming to educate all around development rather than only teach them the language. Therefore, the first priority to teaching English at the primary school is to cultivate their interest in learning, motivate them to work hard, help them establish good learning habits and develop useful learning strategies. In most of teaching methods, using games to teach is undoubtedly an important way to stimulate student’s interest in learning English, especially in English-dialogue teaching.  As we all know, children enjoy playing games in their native language and this is a familiar experience for children to be introduced to studies in a foreign language. Games are motivating and fun and can help develop pupils’ positive attitudes towards the foreign language and language learning, and create a desire to continue learning.
