Abstract and Key Words

Abstract: Mainly based on the theory of error analysis, the present paper is intended to make an analysis of the common errors committed by Chinese college students from the angles of grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and culture in order to enable them to be aware of the common types of those errors as well as their cultural, psychological and environmental causes. Furthermore, this paper illustrates a series of concrete and effective strategies towards error-correction in the aspects of self-correction, peer-correction and teacher-correction, with the help of which, college students can get a more profound understanding of the errors in their oral English and try to avoid them to some extent so as to improve the accuracy and fluency of their oral English.

摘要:本文在错误略论的理论基础上,从语法、语音、词汇和文化四个方面对中国大学生常犯的英语口语错误进行略论,旨在从根本上了解现在中国大学生英语口语错误的类型和英语口语错误产生的文化、心理以及母语作用等原因,并从自我纠正、同伴纠正以及教师纠正三方面提出具体的、对中国大学生行之有效的口语纠正措施,从而使广大高校学生对英语口语错误有更深刻的认识;可以在一定程度上避免英语口语错误,英语毕业论文英语论文,从而提高他们口语的流利度和准确度。

1. Introduction
With China’s entry into the WTO and the world's internationalization and globalization, English is no longer proprietary for a country or a nation. Actually, it is seen as a tool for international communication and a medium for the communication of global information as well. In China, as in many other countries, English is widely learned as a foreign language, but the fact is that most students learning English in colleges is test-oriented by and large, so their ability in written English is far more required than that in spoken English. At this rate, "Dumb English" is pervasive and has become the biggest obstacle for English college students in improving their command of English.
 Accurate and fluent oral English, however, tends to be a basic requirement for college students especially in accordance with the current trend of international development of economy. In order to enable college students to improve their oral English to adapt them to the current situation, it is necessary to make them know the types of the common errors committed in daily communication as well as the reasons for them. What's more, it is also indispensable for college students to be instructed with a series of concrete and effective strategies towards error-correction. In that case, they can get a more profound understanding of the errors committed in their oral English and try to avoid them to some extent so as to improve the accuracy and fluency of their oral English.
