摘要
成长小说在德国发展成为一种小说类型以后，英语毕业论文，在世界范围内广泛传播开来。当它传播到美国以后，形成了一种新的风格。这种新型风格习惯于用开放性结局强调在成长中遭遇的困境，而这也正是本文即将研讨的三篇小说所具有的特点。本文主要采取比较的措施提取三篇小说的共同之处并研讨该共同之处是否揭示了成长的本质。
这三篇小说分别出自三位不同的作家之手，除此之外，还有诸多不同之处。但是这三篇小说的主人公在面对困境时，都选择了离开原来的地方。在成长小说发展出美国风格以后，这样的开放性结局在这类小说中被广泛应用。这三篇小说事实上也是现代成长小说的范例。在这些小说中，个人向社会的妥协已经不再是成长小说的一个基本要素。这类故事的核心在于主人公所面临的困境。
当一个小男孩成长为青年以后，他在生理和心理方面都得到了提高。当小男孩长大以后，他的自我意识也被全然唤醒。而且，有时候，这种自我意识可能会发展成为英雄主义。这尤其适用于男性，英语毕业论文，因为男性的男子汉气概是与生俱来的。这也是大多数成长小说，作者都选择男性作为主角的原因。不过，在青年身上所出现的困境其实也是每个人成长过程中必不可少的一部分，青年成长的本质也是每个人在一生中所要面对的成长的本质。

Abstract
After initiation story develops into a type of story in Germany, it is spread widely abroad. When it met the young country, America, it is marked with a new style. And this style prefers a more open ending to emphasize the dilemma in growing up, which is also the feature of the three stories that this essay analyzes. This essay mainly uses the approach of comparative study to extract the similarity among the three stories then try to discuss if the similarity stands for the core of initiation story.
The three stories were written by three different authors and there are many other differences among them but these three stories shared the same plot in which the protagonist encounters a dilemma that he choose to solve by leaving from the old place. After initiation story has developed into an American style, opening end is widely used in this type of story. These three stories are three examples of modern initiation story. In these stories, the compromise made by individual to the society is not a basic element anymore. The core of this type of story is the dilemma the protagonist meets.
When a little boy becomes a young man, he is improved both physically and psychologically. After a boy has grown up, his self-awareness is totally aroused and sometimes it will develop into heroism. This is especially correct with male since they are born to be macho. That is why writers always choose a young man rather than a young woman as the protagonist of an initiation story. However, the dilemma happened to them is indispensable in everyone’s growth. The core of the young’s growth is also the core of everybody’s growth during his whole life span.
