摘要：
希腊文化是欧洲文化的源头，而希腊神话作为希腊文化的最大成就，是古希腊文化宝库中的一朵奇葩，在西方历史,甚至整个人类历史上都有着至尊的地位。马克思曾经指出，“古希腊的神话和艺术是人类童年时代美丽的诗，具有永远性的魅力”。此外，英语论文，希腊经典神话对现代英语文化作用的深远性自不待言，欧美文学史上经典的文学作家像Percy Bysshe Shelley,George Gordon Byron,George Bernard Shaw 和James Joyce等，都从希腊经典神话中获得灵感，并引用了大量的希腊经典神话故事和人物，创造出许多不朽的名篇。同时，希腊经典神话也深深融汇于英语语言之中，英语毕业论文，不仅是一些地名和习语，而且在日常生活的各个领域都有运用。此外，纵观希腊经典神话，其塑造的很多神话人物都秉持人文主义，个人主义，他们追求以人为中心，个性解放与自我价值的实现，崇尚本性自由发展，这都成为了后来欧美价值观的核心。本论文通过略论希腊经典神话对欧美文学、英语语言、欧美价值观等的作用，以期有助于英语学习者了解相关的文化知识，在英语学习中将语言知识与文化背景结合起来，从而更好地透过英语国家独特的文化现象，去加深对西方文化的理解。

ABSTRACT:
Greek culture is the important source of European culture; Greek mythology, as the greatest achievement of Greek culture, plays an imperial role in the western history, as well as in the whole human history. As Karl Marx once put it, “The ancient Greek mythology and art is a beautiful poem with permanent charm”. Through looking for a lot of data and reading up carefully, I find that a great many writers in the history of European literature, such as Percy Bysshe Shelley, George Gordon Byron, George Bernard Shaw, James Joyce and so on, obtained inspiration from Greek classic mythology and quoted a large number of stories and figures in Greek classic mythology, eventually created numerous immortal famous works. Meanwhile, Greek classic mythology is integrated deeply into English language, which is not only applied to some name of place and idioms, but also to everyday English. In addition, making a general survey of Greek classic mythology, most mythological figures by fictile adhered to humanism and individualism, that is to say, they aspired for individual emancipation and the realization of self-worth and advocated the free development of nature, which has been the core of European and American values. This thesis aims to analyze the Greek classic mythology’s influence on three different aspects: European and American literature, English language and European and American values, with the purpose to help the English learners understand relevant cultural knowledge, and combine language knowledge with cultural background in the progress of learning English, so as to grasp English countries’ unique cultural phenomena better and deepen the comprehension of western culture.
