Abstract
James Matthew Barrie is widely regarded as one of the greatest dramatists, who wrote lots of Children's Literature in modern times. His work Peter Pan mainly represents a story of a boy spending his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland. It draws public attention and love. In most cases, Peter pan is supposed to be the pursuit of innocence and happiness. However, this thesis takes another point of view: Peter Pan Syndrome, which also matches the time features.
With such perspective, this thesis firstly illustrates the behavior and thinking features of Peter Pan in the novel and those Peter Pans in real society. Basing on the illustration, it secondly analyzes the reasons behind Peter Pan Syndrome. With the cause analysis, it lastly proposes feasible ways to overcome such syndrome in society.

詹姆斯•马修•巴利被普遍认为是儿童文学最伟大的剧作家之一,他拥有着许多优秀的儿童文学著作。其中最有名的莫过于《彼得潘》这一部舞台剧本。这部剧本主要讲述了主人公,一个会飞的拒绝长大的顽皮男孩彼得潘在永无岛,与温迪以及她的弟弟们的所遭遇到的各种历险故事。在当时,英语毕业论文,这部剧本获得了群众的许多喜爱和关注。在大多数情况下,这部著作的主旨被认为是传达对自由、纯真的追求,而这篇论文着眼当今的社会中与文中主人公彼得相似的症状(即彼得潘综合症),略论小说中的彼得以及现实中的彼得潘们的表现,并挖掘产生这种社会现象的原因,进一步得出解决这种社会现象的可行办法。希望能引起一些人的思考和理解。

1 Introduction
Peter Pan, a representative work of James Matthew Barrie and also a representative work of British children literature, is reposed to play, drama and movie which won over public. This work is mainly about a story of a boy spending his never-ending childhood adventuring on the small island of Neverland with his friends Wendy and her brother. In the end of the story, Wendy and other children grew up while Peter Pan resisted growing up in cycles. This work succeeds primarily due to its pursuit for freedom and innocence, Peter Pan is always portrayed as a symbol of naughty but innocent boy. However, Eric Berne, an American psychologist, firstly propose the concept that group who have trouble growing up mentally in 1966. And American psychologist Dr. Dan Kiley also demonstrates these people as who eager to play the role of the child rather than being a parent and name this expression as “Peter Pan Syndrome”.
