Abstract

Reading books has been widely popular. Whether young friends, middle-aged, or old people all would choose to read a book to learn the latest or most representative knowledge of the era. Expression of the profound meaning of The Scarlet Letter has always been the focus of the critics. The Scarlet Letter constantly resonates with readers, especially young readers, because the author successfully creates three different perpetual images. Hester Prynne’s destiny was influenced by the two leading men, Chillingworth and Dimmesdale. She was a beautiful and brave woman with multiple personality. This article will use a lot of analysis, and through analysis of the two major heroes in The Scarlet Letter, sum up the purpose of the article and the theme which the author wants to express in the authoring process. Through the comparative analysis, we can grasp the development and trend of this story further.
