成语,英语论文题目,如英语语言系统的重要组成部分,已被称为英语词汇的本质,被广泛运用在我们的日常沟通。他们中许多人通过长期使用的一种语言形式的特性产生深远的作用,简明的形式,强烈的表现力和丰富的文化内涵。Idioms, as an important part of the English language system, have been known asthe essence of the English vocabulary and been widely used in our daily communication. Many of them through a long-term use make out a kind of language form, with thecharacteristic of profound implications, concise forms, strong expressive power and richcultural connotations. However, these characteristics unconsciously become the barriersfor English idiom learners who are frequently annoyed by the fact that they enjoy a lowefficiency of English idioms learning. Facing this kind of language form, learners oftenread the lines of signs and symbols, instead of the cultures between the lines, they oftenunderstand the linguistic signs and symbols by following some rules and regulationsinstead of visualizing the conceptions, they don't have a rich storage of patterns whichagree phonetically, formally and semantically, unify form and taste, and harmonizethinking and expressing. Under these circumstances, what they have understood doesnot correspond to, or even goes contrary to, what they have expected to express, andwhat they have expressed looks awkward and dull. The research on the idioms are much later compared to the lexicology study. In1925, L.P.Smith published his book Words and Idioms, which is regarded as therepresentative of the early idioms research. His main contribution is to explore thesource and the structure of the idioms, in which the source of the idioms is classified indetails. Meanwhile, he emphasizes that the semantic of the idioms can not bedetermined by summing the semantics of the words in them. During the 1930s to the1950s, with the vigorous development of the structuralism, the theories for explainingthe lexical, semantic and syntactic features of the words have been also used to explainthe deep structure and the semantic features of the idioms. In this period, C.F.Hockettstressed the importance of the context in the process of interpreting the meaning of theidioms. He pointed out that without the context, it will become difficult to ensure theexpression comes to be a idiom or a collocation. He draw forth that the idioms arefeatured with the characters of single unit, institutionalization and irreplaceability. Since1980s, the idioms study enters into a new and prosperous stage, many scholars put theoriginal approaches aside,英语论文范文,and explore a new way to make the idiom research at theperspective of cognition. Cognitive linguists such as Kovecses and Azabo describe theidioms' semantic motivation and their cognitive mechanism, and emphasis that theidioms are metaphors in nature. Generally speaking, the scope of the idiom study isexpanding, and theories analyzing the idioms have the tendency to facilitate the idiomsteaching and acquisition.
