本文以支架式教学模式为理论依据,英语论文,以实证调查方式略论了内蒙古师范大学鸿德学院英语系多媒体听力教学的近况,指出了存在的一些问题,并提出了一些解决对策。
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION引言
1.1 Background背景
听力是第二语言技能的一个关键,单独监禁,并在语言学习中起着至关重要的影响,(鲁宾,1994年)。张伯伦(1950)的一项探讨发现,人们听的时候,45%的沟通时间都花在通信的30%,英语论文范文,16%的阅读和9%写作上。Listening is a key second language skill, and it plays a crucial role incommunication and in language learning (Rubin, 1994). A study by Wilt (1950),found that people listen 45% of the time they spend communication, 30% ofcommunication time is spent speaking, 16% reading and 9% writing. This study isstill widely cited (e.g. Martin, 1987; Strother, 1987). Therefore, improving listeningcompetence has always been the focus of foreign language learning and teachingespecially for English majors. That means the traditional teaching method could notimprove effectively listening comprehension in such situation. So, multimediaEnglish teaching model, has come into being.Multimedia has been widely applied in College English listening teaching withits advantages such as sound, pictures, and animation and so on, which make Englishmajors more interested in listening and provide rich language cultures andbackground knowledge. Multimedia teaching has become an inevitable trend withits incomparable superiority compared to the traditional teaching methods.However, with the application of multimedia for several years, some problems areconsidered to be existent at present in multimedia listening teaching.Scaffolding instruction as a teaching model originates from Vygotsky'ssocio-cultural theory and his concept of the zone of proximal development (ZPD).“scaffolding” is a term used in architecture and often compared to the scaffolding of abuilding. In education, scaffolds are supports provided by the teacher or anotherstudent to construct teaching situational, enable students to be assisted by the teachingenvironment, stimulate their studying interests, be capable of solving problems ontheir own, and cultivate self-learning ability, eventually students could construct theknowledge scaffolding.With the application of scaffolding instruction, and the fact that multimedia1English listening teaching fails to meet teaching targets, it is necessary to try tofurther discuss the existent problems and reveal the reasons so as to solve problemseffectively.
1.2 Purpose and significance目的和意义
Inner Mongolia Normal University Honder College, as one of two IndependentColleges in Inner Mongolia is quite different from other colleges or universities interms of teaching facilities, the students' and teachers' situation. The presentresearch intends to find out the problems in listening teaching with multimedia forEnglish majors in Honder College under scaffolding instruction which is theoreticallybased on Vygotsky's socio-cultural theory and his concept of the zone of proximaldevelopment (ZDP).The study focuses on an investigation of multimedia application in Englishlistening class and aims to figure out the following through questionnaires, interviewsand classroom observation:(1) the attitudes of teachers and English majors towards multimedia-assistedlistening teaching in Honder College; (2) the real situation of multimedia listeningteaching applied in class; (3) the problems that hide behind; (4) any other obstacles ofusing multimedia in listening classroom teaching.The research is from the perspective of English listening teaching base |
