Buthigh school teachers and university teachers are all anxious about students have nomotivation, no innovation ability and no studying interests. By thinking deeply aboutthe teaching process and actual situation of students, the conclusion ultimately belongsto the transition education between high school and university. 1.1 Definition of Chinglish中国式英语的定义
Chinglish is usually produced by Chinese people in Chinese- English translationand also called “Chinese English”. It is a combination of “Chinese “ and “English” andcauses communication between Standard English speakers and Chinglish usersbreakdown. Taking a Confucius Institute advertisement “教你纯正的汉语” for example,the equivalent English version use “Teach you pure Chinese”. It may make Englishnative speakers puzzled. Actually “Confucius Institute teacher you pure Chinese” couldmake this Chinese advertisement sense.At home and abroad, many teachers and researchers have noticed the existence ofChinglish and it’s easy to find many studies on it which are scattered in books andarticles. However, because of its unsystematic and unsteady nature, the term“Chinglish” has been defined differently by many scholars in light of their ownunderstanding. From the encyclopedia on the internet, Wikipedia, “Chinglish is badEnglish printed or spoken by Chinese people.” at abroad, the American author of TheTranslator and publisher for many years, points out in her book: “Chinglish, of course,is that misshapen, hybrid language that is neither English nor Chinese but might bedescribed as ‘English with Chinese characteristics’.”(Pinkham, 2017) British famouslinguist and educator L.G. Alexander (Alexander, 1995) presented his view on Chinglish:Chinglish is the version of English that reflects their (Chinese people’s) own culture…and if I, as a native speaker of English, were to learn Chinese, I would never think,speak and write as a Chinese do. I would always speak Eng-Chinese.” At home in 1989,Professor Deng Yanchang gave the definition of Chinglish as “Chinglish is speech orwriting in English that shows the interference of influence of Chinese. Some sentencesmay be little or more than word for word translation of Chinese expressions.
