Abstract: In recent years,the results of TEM4 of institutions of higher learning in Guangxi Autonomous region shows that the English teaching level as a whole has been improved in the fundamental stage of English major with remarkable progress in writing and listening teaching.Compared with the national average,however,Guangxi students have lower overall level of English,poorer English foundation and less desirable comprehensive ability to use English.The strategies of reducing the disparities between Guangxi and national average level are as follows:1.to solve the problem of faculty inadequacy in institutions of higher learning in Guangxi;2.to perfect assessing system of teaching,promoting students’development and teacher’ s improvement;3.to give students good guide in the transitional phase from high schools to universities;4.to sensibly choose and use suitable teaching materials;5.to strengthen the research on teaching in discourse, and dictation and improve teaching methods. Key words:TEM4;analysis;English teaching in fundamental stage [摘 要] 近年来广西高校英语系四级统考成绩反映出广西英语系本科基础阶段整体教学水平不断提高,在写作和听力教学方面进步尤其大。与全国平均水平相比,广西学生整体英语水平较低,英语教学法论文英语基础相对薄弱,语言综合运用能力不强。缩小与全国差距的对策如下: 1、通过多种渠道解决高校英语师资不足的问题; 2、完善教学评估制度,促进学生发展、教师提高; 3、抓好从中学到大学的过渡时期; 4、合理选择和使用合适的教材; 5、加强语篇教学和听写教学探讨,改善教法。 [关键词] 英语系四级考试; 略论; 基础阶段教学 TEM4是Test for English Majors Grade Four的缩写,即英语系四级考试。“本考试的目的是全面检查已学完英语系四级课程的学生是否达到教学大纲所规定的各项要求,考核学生运用基本技能的能力以及学生对语法结构和词语用法的掌握程度,既测试学生的综合能力,也测试学生的单项技能。同时,也是评估教学质量,推动院际交流学习的一种手段”。[1](P1~2)TEM4从1990年起开始实施,新生入学后第二学年的5月份考试。经过多年的实践和摸索,证明具有一定的科学性和权威性[2](P21)。广西是少数民族地区,近几年来广西高校英语系本科基础阶段整体教学质量如何,在全国处于什么样的水平,我们不得而知。本着交流、知己知彼、发现问题、改进教学的目的,笔者略论了1997年以来广西区高校TEM4成绩,并与全国的平均分进行对比。 一、数据的采集和略论措施 二、表中数据的启示 |
