1.1 The existing problems of Chinese students in English writing
The writer studied the mock test status of a high school in Ulanqab city to find localhigh school English writing situation is worrying. Ulanqab city is located in remote areaand teaching is relatively backward. The problems in students’ composition are moreserious. To write a good English composition relates to various knowledge and skills,including the design of good logical thinking to organize statement discourse, need to haveenough vocabulary and accurate sentence structure to express different ideas. The writingsection scores of the mock tests are not high. Investigate its reason, summed up thefollowing three points: first, the students' written expression exists problems. Students mayhave ideas and examples related to the theme but they don't know how to expresscoherently those ideas that appeared in their mind. Second, students' vocabulary is toosmall. They always ignore lexical grammar rules in the use of words and convert Chinesethinking mode into English writing. Spelling, tense and voice mistake is emerging in anendless stream. Third, students are not good at using the grammar, lexical cohesion, andthey often use of the simple connection means excessively. For example, they does notknow how to replace the same concept of synonyms, a few simple repetition of the basicconnectives such as and, but, so, or etc. The problem of discourse between paragraphs andsentences semantic incoherence are always reduced to fragments. There are clearrequirements in the ordinary high school English Curriculum Standard ( Experiment ) " tohigh school students' English writing:①according to reading articles to report or writeabstract;②according to provided text and diagrams information to write essays or reports;③can write coherent and complete the passage, describe things or expressing opinions andattitude;④write the stylistic norms, sentence. Curriculum Standard both emphasized thewriting requirements for students, and emphasizes the foreign exchange information,express opinions and attitudes of the requirements.

1. 2 Purpose and significance of the preset study
The English written expression of college entrance examination requires the studentsto write a short passage of about one hundred and twenty words in thirty minutes. Thecontent and scope are defined by the listing information, so the content writing is a control mode of thinking style. The essence of this kind of writing is a kind of controlled writingor guided writing. It can't leave for free to play, but more flexible in a specified range ofexpression. Middle school students' English writing ability including spelling, punctuation,grammar, vocabulary and discourse competence, which can enable the students to write achapter of fluent, complete and coherent article. Many problems need the teachers’attention and guidance. For middle school students, especially senior school studentsimprove discourse competence is one of the most effective means of writing guidance andnecessary.In the world globalization of today, the international language of English educationhas become more and more important. Writing ability in English is one of the four basicskills of English learning and also is the key to learn English.
