Chapter 1 Introduction


我们生活的时代,视觉和听觉的世界,所以我们互动的口头沟通和非语言沟通。本章简要介绍了在高中英语课堂教学,本文所探讨的问题,并组织探讨非语言的沟通上的背景和意义。We live in the era of visual and aural world, so we interact by verbalcommunication and nonverbal communication. This chapter is a briefintroduction of background and significance of the study on nonverbalcommunication in English classroom of high schools, the research question andthe organization of this paper.


1.1 Background of the Study
人们以不同的方式,主要是口头沟通和非语言沟通沟通,但人们的高度更加重视强奎口头整个历史的一部分。非语言沟通只在人类学,社会学,心理学和精神病学领域的探讨。虽然在教育领域中,一直被忽视非语言沟通沿着时间。事实上,非语言沟通是重要的,因为在教学环境中的口头沟通。People communicate in different ways, which are mainly verbalcommunication and nonverbal communication, but people attach more emphasis onthe verbal part throughout history. Nonverbal communication has only beenresearched in the field of anthropology, sociology, Psychology and psychiatry.While in educational area, nonverbal communication has been neglected for along time. In fact, nonverbal communication is as important as verbalcommunication in pedagogic environment.
正如我们所知道的,英语是一门必修课,在高中学生的高考,它也是一个具完整的主题。在中国,它是教给所有高中学生。英语教学大纲所描述的,在高中英语教学的主要目标是提高学生的英语交际能力。此外,当前许多语言学家砂学者保持同样的想法,学习者良好的交际能力是他们的语言习得的一种有效手段。此外,时下几乎所有的英语老师承认这是他们的教学工作,培养学生的英语交际能力的主要任务,但是,它是谈何容易。随着社会的快速发展,英语论文题目,学生的身体和心灵已经下了很大的变化。与10年前的学生相比,他们生活得很好,但过压与沉重的学习。虽然在中国大量的教育工作者和学者提出了不少建议,结果并不乐观。(现在经过多年的英语学习,学生们学习英语,至少从7岁,当他们进入小学接受正规教育),英语论文,高中学生仍然抱怨,这是很枯燥和2英语难学。这种不理想的情况是什么原因造成?这部分是因为非语言的沟通,掌握在课堂中是非常重要的,因为大多数的英语学习发生在教室里设置。As we know, English is a compulsory course in high schools and it is also anecessary subject for students’ college entrance examination. In China, it istaught to all high school students. As is described in the English teachingsyllabus, the major goal of English teaching in high schools is to improvestudents’ communicative competence in English. Moreover, many present linguistsand scholars keep the same idea that learners’ excellent communicative competence isan effective means for their language acquisition. Moreover, almost all Englishteachers nowadays admit that it is the major task of their teaching work to developstudents’ communicative competence in English; however, it is easier said than done.With the fast development of society, the students’ body and mind has undergonegreat changes. Compared with the students ten years ago, they live well butoverpressure with heavy learning. Although a large number of educators andscholars in China made many suggestions, the results are not optimistic. Aftermany years’ English learning (now, the students learn English at least from 7years old, when they enter the elementary schools to receive regular education),the high school students still complain that it is very boring and difficult to learn 2English. What caused such unsatisfactory situation? It is partly because of thenonverbal communication, whose mastery in the classroom context is veryimportant as majority of English learning takes place in the classroom settings.
Just because the traditional approach to English teaching happens in classroom,teachers and education department lay heavy stress on improving the teachers’verbal expression of classroom teaching while the nonverbal communicationbetween teachers and students is usually taken for granted. Teachers teach on theplatform from beginning to end, which makes students sleepy. They don’t realizeand exploit the importance of nonverbal communication in pedagogic domain.In fact, English classroom
