Abstract: Since Perlmutter 1978 proposed unaccusative assumed, on the unaccusative phenomenon in different languages have a large amount of research. On the basis of the unaccusative hypothesis, intransitive verbs are divided into two categories: Unaccusative Verbs and unergative verbs. The former is the subject of the verb in the domain of argument, and then the subject of the verb is outside the domain of argument. Unaccusative verb argument on the outside is the subject of the sentence, but the reality is the object of the verb predicate. This paper thinks the unaccusative spectacle is a broad syntactic scene, but need to consider some semantic features of it. The author first introduces some relevant practical, such as X bar the actual, theta actual, practical and check the actual and separation described in English and Russian unaccusative scene. Description words, the central structure can be used to distinguish Unaccusative Verbs and non verbs in English, there are structural, tectonic promotion, causative structure and intransitive structure conversion, past participle, and an important sentence patterns for the diagnosis of Russian have denied the second lattice and table assigned Po phrases. In addition, this paper tries to find on this topic in the two speak similar to that verb construction achievements and where the phrase forward. Wish this research can make a little contribution to the growth of generative grammar. 目录: Acknowledgement 6-7 Abstract in Chinese 7-8 Abstract in English 8 Preface 9-13 Chapter 1 Introduction 13-21 1. 1 Unaccusative 13-14 1. 2 A brief history of unaccusative 14-19 1. 3 This thesis 19-21 Chapter 2 Theoretical Background 21-29 2. 1 X-bar theory 21-24 2. 2 Theta theory 24-26 2. 3 Case theory and government 26-28 2. 4 Checking theory 28-29 Chapter 3 Unaccusativity in English 29-42 4. 1 Expletive structure 29-35 4. 2 Raising predicate 35-37 4. 3 Causative alternation 37-40 4. 4 Participle adjective conversion 40 4. 5 Middle construction 40-42 Chapter 4 Unaccusativity in Russian 42-54 4. 1 Genitive of negation 42-43 4. 2 Distributive po-phase 43-54 4. 2. 1 Beghelli and Stowell (1997)—Strong distributors in English and Russian 44-47 4. 2. 2 Distributive po-phrases, numerals and Case 47-54 Chapter 5 Similarity of unaccusativity in English and Russian 54-61 5. 1 Result structure 54-55 5. 2 Locative inversion 55-61 Chapter 6 Conclusion 61-64 References 64-65 |
