ABSTRACT
As a special language phenomenon existing in many countries of the world, euphemism is an indispensable part of the linguistic application. In recent decades, with the research of the A Dream of Red Mansions rising, the translation of euphemism is becoming popular. In order to get a further understanding of this famous works, the author will summarize the study of the translation of euphemism from cultural perspective, functional equivalence, ethical aesthetic viewpoint, subjectivity of translator and skopos theory, which will help the study of A Dream of Red Mansions.

摘 要
委婉语是语言运用中不可或缺的重要部分,作为一种特殊的语言变形, 存在于世界多个民族语言中。近几十年年来，随着红学探讨的兴起，对于红楼梦委婉语的英译探讨也开始流行，通过对红楼梦中委婉语英译的探讨成果的梳理，英语论文，从文化视角，功能对等，伦理角度，目的论以及译者主体等方面着手，英语论文，有助于对这本世界名著的进一步理解和探讨。

Chapter One Introduction
1.1 Background Information
A Dream of Red Mansions, not only plays an important role in the domestic historical literature, but also becomes a treasure in the world’s literature. As the application of euphemism becomes ubiquitous, and further studies and translation of euphemism are rising as well in the world, in this respect, scholars have begun to translate euphemism in different point of views. This paper attempts to make an analysis and an evaluation on the basis of present studies to promote more in-depth analysis of the character of euphemism.
