Abstract
American Slang as a variant of language plays a vital role in life and adopted widely in movies for its own features. With the popularity of American movies, how to introduce and translate them to Chinese is what English learners should take into consideration.If they want to finish this job perfectly, they need to grasp the meaning of slang in the lines. American slang has its own history and development, which contributes to its features. All these features help translators to know about the connotation and origin of American slang,which makes the process of translating more interesting.
This paper consists of four parts.In the first part of the thesis, the author does some research about the background and origin of slang, and discusses the definition of slang. In the second chapter, the author focuses on the slang itself and explores its features. In the third part of the thesis, the author analyzes the role that slang plays in American movies and its functions. In the last part of the thesis, the author sums up a couple of common mistakes and problems in the translation process according to her collection of American movie lines and offers a few suggestions and skills to the translators about how to translate slang in movies.

摘 要
美国俚语作为一种语言的变体在日常生活中的起着很大的影响，也因为其自身的一些特点被广泛地引用于电影中。随着美国电影在全球的流行，如何引进和翻译美国电影成了英语学习者应该考虑的问题。如果他们想要出色地完成这一项工作，英语论文范文，就不得不把注意力放在俚语的翻译上。美国俚语有它自己的历史和发展，这也造就了它的一些特点。从这些特点入手，翻译者可以更好地了解俚语的含义和由来，英语论文，给翻译的过程添加不少乐趣。
本篇论文括了四个部分。第一部分，作者探讨俚语的背景，起源以及讨论俚语的定义。二个部分，重点关注俚语本身的特点。第三个部分，作者探讨俚语在美国电影中的角色和所起到的影响。本篇论文的最后一部分，作者归纳了一些俚语对白翻译中常见问题，并总结出一些俚语对白的翻译技巧。
