摘要
谈及西方的史诗魔幻小说，我们想到的往往是魔幻小说的始祖，由托尔金所创作的《指环王》三部曲----《魔戒同盟》，《双塔奇兵》，与《王者归来》。这三部著作对西方的文化产生了极大的作用。
由其而改编，英语论文，由彼得杰克逊导演的电影《指环王》系列更是魔幻电影史上的一座丰碑，让全世界的人们更为真切的了解到了西方特有的一种魔幻文化。简而言之，《指环王》就是一部为了世界的光明未来，誓死抵抗黑暗的伟大史诗。
文章首先对《指环王》的整个故事梗概进行概述，介绍小说中代表人物的背景。接下来本文将从三个角度来对电影及小说中的善与恶进行略论。一是从宗教的角度,将圣经故事与《指环王》的故事进行对比，进而再将《圣经》中的善的代表人物耶稣与《指环王》中善的代表人物甘道夫和弗罗多作对比，得出他们俩是耶稣在中土世界载体的结论，恶的方面，则将该隐与咕噜作对比，得出对于恶的结论。二是从托尔金小说的创作背景角度出发，将托尔金的人生经历，背景事件，尤其二战与工业化与小说中体现的善恶结合起来，英语毕业论文，来对善恶进行略论。三则是结合以上二角度从人物刻画方面来略论。
这样的探讨，有着《指环王》系列的推广的意义，以弃恶扬善人文意义，和教育启迪的现实意义。

Abstract
When it comes to western epic fantasy novels, the first one that comes to our minds is always The Lord of the Rings series written by J.R.R.Tolekien. The series consists of three episodes, which are The Fellowships of the Ring, the Two Towers, and the Return of the King. The novel itself has greatly influenced the western culture in many ways and to different degrees.
The core of The Lord of the Rings whether in the movies or in the novels is the collision between good and evil, and in the end the good defeats the evils. Whether the collision of good and evil within the inner heart of a single character, or among characters, or even of the whole story, they are worth anglicizing and taking a deep research into.
This thesis will first give the outline of the whole story, and then introduce the representative characters of good and evil. Finally, this thesis will analyze the good and the evil in the movies and novels from two angles, which are the religion angle, the background angle, and the character angle.
Firstly, in religious view, this paper will first compare the stories of the Bible with the novels, and then put the good and evil characters from the Bible and the novel together to make comparison. Finally, the paper arrives at the conclusion that Gandalf and Frodo together stand for the Jesus in middle-earth. They are the good in the novels. While Gollum is the Cain in the novels, he stands for evil, especially greed, which Tolkien believes is the source of all evils.
Secondly, in background view, this paper will study the life experience of Tolkien, especially World War I, World War II, and the industrialization, and then combine the results with the novels to do the study.
Researches of this kind would be a great help of helping people discard evil and leading them to good, and I strongly believe that this is just where the practical significance and initial purpose of The Lord of the Rings lie in.
