摘要
菲茨杰拉德是美国二十世纪最杰出的作家之一，英语论文范文，被称为“爵士时代”的代言人。其代表作《了不起的盖茨比》是公认的美国文学史上的经典之作，英语论文范文，国内外很多学者都针对此书从不同方面进行了探讨和解读，例如美国梦的破碎，小说的自传体性质，人物塑造等。
而本文主要致力于略论文中女主人公黛西的双重性格。《了不起的盖茨比》的成功之处之一是对女主人公黛西的双重性格特征的生动而细微的刻画。黛西个性鲜明，性格复杂多变，作为一个极富代表性的富家小姐，她浅薄，总是把金钱看成首位，而另一方面她又敢爱敢恨，对盖茨比有着纯真炽热的情感，婚后生活不幸福，痛苦，挣扎。而盖茨比和黛西的感情线是小说的核心部分之一，作为美国梦的象征和爵士时代的典型代表，黛西的双重性格不仅让盖茨比迷失自我，同时也颠覆其表面上给读者留下的浅薄、拜金的外在的形象。

Abstract
F．S．Fitzgerald, one of the greatest American writers in the twentieth century, is regarded as the spokesman of the “Jazz Age”. The Great Gatsby, one of his representative works, is well known as a classic in American literature. Many scholars in China and other countries have studied and analyzed it from different aspects such as the broken American dream, natures of autobiography, and characteristics of the images and so on.
This thesis mainly focuses on analyzing Daisy’s dual image, which is one of the most successful parts in this novel. With distinct but changeable individual characteristics, this rich lady is superficial, because she always thinks of money first. On the contrary, she is brave enough to love and hate, and her feelings for Gatsby is sincere. However, she suffers greatly and experiences many mental struggles after she marries Tom. The love between Daisy and Gatsby is the core of the novel. As a symbol of the American Dream and the typical delegate of Jazz Age and Gold-plated Girl, the analysis not only shows how Daisy makes Gatsby lose himself, but also reverses our initial impression of her as a simple addict of material wealth.
