Abstract
In the field of literature, Hardy is familiar to every litterateur and his novels are famous to the world. With his novels published and spread, his novels have been researched by many scholars. But the previous researches on Tess’s tragedy are mainly from literature and social approach. Hardly did they study from linguistics. Few people ever combined linguistics with Tess’s tragedy. The paper will analyze Tess’s tragedy from a new perspective: “turn”, which provides a new point on researching novels and dramas. And it will provide a new unscrambled way for readers to think about Hardy’s novel—Tess of the D’urbervilles.
This paper is composed of four sections. The first section serves as an introduction to this paper, presenting a brief description to the research background and the research purpose. The second section will illustrate the definition of “turn”. It includes the development of turn from many scholars, and the definition of turn: five parts of turn. The third section will explore the reasons for Tess’s tragedy from “turn”, including Tess’s passive character from “turn”; Tess’s inferior character from “turn”; Tess’s obedient character from turn. The last section draws a natural conclusion based on the above elaboration. It makes a general summary of the reasons for Tess’s Tragedy. And it will put forward the possibilities for further research.

哈代在文学界众所周知，他的小说闻名于世界。随着他的小说的出版，流传，英语论文，他的小说被许多学者探讨。以前大多从文学和社会角度探讨苔丝悲剧，很少有从语言学角度探讨苔丝悲剧。这篇论文将从一个新的角度—话轮来探讨苔丝的悲剧。它将为探讨小说和戏剧提供一个新的起点。同时，它也为德伯家的苔丝的读者提供一个新的解读。
这篇论文分成四部分。第一部分是这篇论文的介绍，包括探讨背景和探讨目的。第二部分是话轮的定义。它包括话轮理论的发展以及话轮所涉及的五个部分。第三部分是从话轮的角度探讨苔丝的悲剧。它由三个部分构成：从话轮角度略论苔丝被动的性格；从话轮角度略论苔丝自卑的性格；从话轮角度略论苔丝顺从的性格。而且第三部分会采用定量略论措施，使其探讨更加方便和准确。第四部分是根据以上略论做出的一个总结，英语论文网站，并提出进一步探讨的方面。
