The stag at eve had drunk his fill, Where danced the moon on Monan’s rill.--—Walter Scott这首诗由于诗人能够用那么少的词描述一幅独特的景色而具有其独到之处。 The Waking I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot hear. I learn by going where I have to go. We think by feeling. What is where to know? I hear my being from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground. I shall walk softly there. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. Light takes tree; but who can tell us how? The lonely worm climbs up a winding stair, I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. Great nature has another thing to do. To you and me: so take the lively air. And, lovely, learn by going where to go. This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always, and is near. I wake to sleep, and taking my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.--—Theodore Roethke In a Station of the Metro The apparition of these in the crowd; Petals on a wet, black bough.--—Ezra PoundWatering the Horse How strange of being giving up all the ambition Suddenly I see with such clear eyes The white flake of snow That has just fallen on the horse’s mane.--—Robert Bly All day long the noise of battle rolled Among mountains by the winter sea, Until King Arthur’s table, man by man, Had fallen in Lyonnesse about their lord.--—Alfred Tennyson 2. Dreams Hold fast to dreams For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren fieldFrozen with snow.--—Langston HughesWind and silver Greatly shining, The autumn moon flats in the thin sky; And the fishponds snake their backs and flash their dragon scales As she passes over them.--—Amy Lowell如果我们仔细品味这两首诗,我们会发现由于它们的诗行长短不同,会给读者留下不同印象。
