1. Introduction 简介


广告一词源于拉丁词advertere,意思是“一种措施,引起公众关注的东西,英语论文题目,诱导人们以某种方式使用它”。在现代社会,人们生活在广告时代,报纸,杂志,电视,广播,网络以及其他一些媒体我们展示了各种对于商品和服务的信息。随着我国社会的发展英语论文范文,广告已经成为我们现代社会的一个重要组成部分。打开电视,你看广告;打开收音机,听到广告;脱脂和扫描报纸,你也看到的广告,甚至在门口,你可以得到广告。广告的影子一样跟着你。英语广告已经变得越来越流行和重要的英语作为一种国际语言的著作。The term advertisement originates from the Latin word advertere, meaning “a method that arouses the public attention to something, and induce people to use it in some way”. In modern society, people live in the age of advertising, the newspaper, magazines, TV, radio, network and some other media show us various kinds of information about goods and services. With the development of our society, advertisements have become an important part of our modern society. Turn on TV, you see advertisements;turn on radio, you hear advertisements; skim and scan newspapers, you see also advertisements; even at the doorway you can get advertisements. Advertisements follow you like shadows. English advertisement has become more and more popular and important for English works as an international language. 

With globalization of the world economy as well as China’s entry into WTO, not only can we Chinese benefit greatly from the high quality products imported from foreign countries, but also our national products are entering the international market on a large scale. As we know, the fierce competition on the international market lies in the quality of the product and a good brand reputation ,in a good service and a good company image. Advertising is an important way of good promotion. The expansion of international trade between China and many other countries makes it increasingly significant for us to understand and translate English and Chinese advertisement. However, many translated advertisements are still not satisfactory. Some of them can’t provide correct and full information of advertised products, and some are puzzling us due to the diversity of cultures. Although there are some translation techniques and theories in adverti  sing translation, yet up to now, no clear and practical principles are provided for translation of advertising. Accordingly, it is imperative to probe into the topic of English advertising translation.


2. General Knowledge of English Advertisement  


Nowadays, every day and everywhere, we can find ourselves surrounded by all kinds of advertisements. Advertisements usually costs a lot of money and the birth of them are complicated and highly artistic. We are familiar with the colorful advertisements in all forms of media. As one of the social communication tools, advertisement has its special features in language. But what on the earth is advertising?

3. The Linguistic Features of English Advertisement
If the modern society has no advertising, it will be incomplete. The advertising controls functions of immediate impact and rapid persuasion with a high commercial value. Among the many advertising factors, language is the heart of an successful advertisement. Advertising has a strong persuasive power. As a special applied language, advertising language displays its distinctive features in morphology, syntax and rhetorical devices. In this paper, these features  will be briefly introduced from the syntactic and rhetorical perspectives.
