As a senior high school English teacher, when it comes to the 5th year of my career, I noticed that this has become a more and more serious and urgent problem which all the high school, of course including all English teachers, should pay much more attention to and take immediate action. That is, there are so many students, they even gave up their English study during the first year of their senior high school, which causes a series of problems. In the class, they can’t understand what the teacher is talking or speaking because they seldom catch a word, and besides, so many news words they don’t know how to pronounce correctly, as a result, they treat their English study more passively. Gradually, they lost their heart in this subject completely, they don’t listen to the teachers’ teaching any more, just like one disaster after another, this situation becomes more and more worse. Thus, this worries me from time to time, especially, I’m afraid they can’t pass the English Proficiency Test when they comes to their second year.
