Abstract:
This study aims to investigate and discuss the compiling of the delexicalized verb constructions（DVCs）in general English-Chinese dictionaries. Delexicalized verbs（Dvs） are also named as “light verbs” (Leech, 2017:60), which refer to the verbs that collaborate with a verbal noun and the meaing of such verbs are delexicalized. Allerton (2017) classified Dvs as high frequency, medium frequency and low frequency verbs. Generally speaking, the meanings of these verbs are relatively broad, so it’s really hard to identify and explain them. The author will take A New English-Chinese Dictionary (century edition), A Multifunction English-Chinese Dictionary (second edition), Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary of Current English(7th edition) and LONGMAN Dictionary of Contemporary English（third edition with New Words Supplement） as reference tool books and probe into the way in which the above-mentioned dictionaries define and arrange Dvs by making some statistics. In this way, we will find out the advantages and shortcomings of different dictionaries.

本文主要对英语虚化动词结构在英汉语文词典中的编排情况进行研讨。虚化动词也称轻动词，是指那些带了一个名词化的动词，英语论文，并且意义虚化了的动词（见英语摘要的说明！）。Allerton (2017)把虚化动词分为高频、中频和低频动词，这些动词的语义一般比较宽泛，英语论文，很难确定和解释。本文采用以《新英汉词典》、《英汉多功能词典》、《牛津高阶双解词典》和《朗文当代高级英语辞典》四本词典为蓝本，通过统计略论，研讨上述词典对虚化动词结构的编排、释义等问题，以发现不同词典的优劣。

1. Introduction
The delexicalized verb constructions are quite common in modern English. However, few people pay special attention to this construction so that most people use it even without any consciousness. Therefore, theoretically they do not have much knowledge about its use and features. Up to now not many scholars are engaged in the study of this phenomenon. So it is with the study of the compiling of the DVCs in general English - Chinese dictionaries. In the paper I will take the DVCs with give, take, have ,whose stationarity are between idioms and free expressions，as examples to discuss the compiling of this construction in general English-Chinese Dictionaries. We will conduct this survey from the following process. First, what are the Dvs? Second, what are the DVCs？Third, what is the classification of this construction? Fourth, how is the construction compiled in general English-Chinese Dictionaries. Finally, a conclusion about the compiling of the DVCs will be made.
