Abstract
Nida’s equivalence translation theory has great influence in the field of translating both at home and abroad. The Book of Songs is the first anthology of poetry in China. More than three centuries ago, The Book of Songs had been translated into English. The application of descriptive reduplications is a distinctive feature in The Book of Songs. Descriptive reduplications can be divided into two types: reduplications as noun modifiers and reduplications as verb modifiers. The thesis uses Nida’s equivalence translation theory, through comparing the versions of Wang Rongpei and Yang Xianyi, to analyze the differences of strategies in translating descriptive reduplications. What's more, the thesis explains that different translation theories have some influence on translators and their versions.

摘 要
奈达的的对等翻译理论,对国内外翻译学界都有着深远的作用。自奈达提出他的形式对等和功能对等理论以来,引起越来越多的学者的探讨。《诗经》是我国第一部诗歌总集,是中华民族的文化经典。早在三个多世纪以前,《诗经》就开始被翻译成英语。修饰性叠词是《诗经》中的一大语言特色,英语论文网站,它体现了语言的音韵美、形象美和表达美,使其英译存在一定的难度。在《诗经》中,修饰性叠词主要可分为两类:修饰名词的叠词和修饰动词的叠词。本文应用奈达的对等翻译理论,通过对比汪榕培和杨宪益的《诗经》译本,英语论文范文,略论两人对这两类修饰性叠词的翻译策略的不同,并且解释不同的翻译理论对译者及译本的作用。

1 Introduction
The Book of Songs has an important position in Chinese literature. It is the first anthology of poetry in China. It compiles 305 poems from the eleventh century BC to sixth century BC in the period of ancient China. It is divided into three parts: ballads, dynastic hymns and odes. It uses an ancient literary style that combines verse with prose, and it also uses metaphor and analogy. Since Han Dynasty, The Book of Songs has served as a classic for generations of Chinese people.
The Book of Songs is of such importance to China that it has a powerful influence in the whole world. More than three centuries ago, The Book of Songs has been translated into English. In foreign countries, James Legge, William Jennings, Ezra Pound and Arthur Waley are famous English translators of The Book of Songs. In China, Xu Yuanchong, Wang Rongpei and Yang Xianyi’s English versions are very popular in the translating field.
