Abstract
Film has already become a common form of spreading popular culture, it plays an important role in cross-cultural communication in the world. Because of the disparities between different languages, subtitle translation has become more and more important in the area of translation. However, subtitling has some shortages concerning time and space. Relevance Theory has been used as guidance for solving this problem. Translator needs to build the communication bridge based on his own cognitive context between the original author and the target language audience to acquire the relevance of the film. Thus, it can make the target language audience get the best context effect with the minimal cognitive efforts and have a better understanding of the film.
This paper tries to analyze the subtitle translation of Mulan from the perspective of Relevance Theory. According to the optimal relevance, the author has made an analysis about some Chinese versions of Mulan and concluded five basic translation strategies: literal translation, paraphrasing, condensation, substitution and amplification. The author hopes this study can be useful to subtitle translation activity in the future.

摘 要
电影作为一种大众喜闻乐见的文化形式，英语论文范文，它在文化的交流与传播中起了很重要的影响。由于语言的异同，使得电影字幕翻译在翻译领域中越来越重要。字幕本身的特点使得它存在时间和空间上的不足。为了解决这个问题，学者们引用了关联理论的概念来指导字幕翻译。译者需要根据自身的认知语境来为原作者和目的语观众双方建立起很好的桥梁，以获取电影字幕的关联性，产生最佳的语境效果，英语毕业论文，使目的语观众能够通过最小的认知努力获得最佳的语境效果，从而充分地理解和欣赏电影。
本文试图从关联理论的角度，来略论电影《花木兰》的字幕翻译。根据最佳关联准则，本文作者对《花木兰》字幕的中的一些译本进行了略论，得出了五种基本的翻译策略：直译、意译、浓缩、替换和增译。希望本文的略论和探讨对以后的字幕翻译实践活动能有一定的帮助。

1 Introduction
With the trend of globalization in today’s society, the demand of the cross-cultural communication is strengthened day after day, and the mass media is becoming more and more developed. During the time, Chinese people began to contact with foreign cultures. Compared with books, operas and the other forms of literature, film, as a popular form of foreign cultural information expression, is widely received by people who want to know more about the outside world and foreign cultures. In fact, many people do not have the required ability to understand the foreign film without translation. Therefore, as an special and peculiar translation mode, film translation is getting more and more attention in translation filed these years.
