Abstract
As one of the important parts of the German functionalism, the skopostheorie is called “Functional Skopos Translation Theory” by many scholars in their academic researches. The history of skopostheorie can be dated back to functionalism in 1971 in Germany. Since skopostheorie is formed, it has been researched in different fields. English film is an indispensable bridge to communicate between English and Chinese, whose title translation becomes decisive part to attract Chinese audience. In the past, the translation study in the field of English film focus on the “Functional Equivalence”. In this paper, the author researches English film title translation from the Skopostheorie, which gets away from the bound of “Functional Equivalence”. Under the perspective of Skopostheorie, the skopos rule is the primary rule among the three rules. English film title translation is an purposeful action. Its purpose justifies its translation methods.

摘 要
目的论作为重要的翻译理论之一，自形成以来得到诸多学者的关注与探讨，对许多领域的翻译都具有学术意义。本文从目的论的角度略论英语电影片名的翻译准则及措施，摆脱了“功能对等”理论对英语电影翻译的束缚，丰富了该领域的翻译理论。根据目的论及其准则在电影片名翻译中的运用，本文具体略论其对英文电影片名翻译措施的作用，主要从音译、直译、意译、活译四个方面进行略论。从目的论的角度看，翻译的首要准则是目的准则，目的决定翻译过程和结果。在充分考虑目的准则的前提下，也应该充分考虑连贯准则和忠实准则。电影片名翻译是一项有目的的活动，它特有的目的就决定了它独特的翻译过程和使用的翻译措施，英语毕业论文，体现了目的论对英语电影片名翻译的理论意义和实践意义。希望读者对目的论在翻译中的运用有一个全新的认识。

1 Introduction
In recent decades, with the economic progress and the promotion of globalization, people has increasingly payed attention to international communication and quality of their life. Enjoying foreign films has become an indispensable part in our life, which can improve life quality and promote international communication. Many countries all over the world have own film companies, for instance, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros, Universal Picture Co in America, Cinema Service and Cineclick Asia in Korea, Kadokawa Pictures,INC and Toei Tokyo in Japan. As we all know, film title is the eye for film. Therefore, the translation of film title plays an important role when people watch foreign films. In this study, the author discusses the translation of English film title between English and Chinese from the perspective of skopostheorie.
