[摘要] 本文研讨使用现代教育技术改进翻译教学,提高翻译质量的各种具体办法。作者使用2017 年八级考试汉译英部
分作为语料,略论如何在网上搜寻多种参考译文,取长补短,以便提高自己的译文质量;如何使用电脑WORD 中的同义词库搜寻同义词和相关词汇;如何使用Google 调查词组、搭配是否地道常用,某些语法结构是否正确、常用。本文还使用网络电脑技术对翻译专业资格考试英译文提出修改意见。
近两年,笔者试点在数字化多媒体教室开设翻译课,摸索了利用网络电脑功能改进翻译教学的经验。我们组织学生开发利用Google 和电脑WORD 的各种功能:
(1) 搜寻多种参考译文,对比不同译文,取长补短,发展批判性思维,以便提高自己的译文质量。
(2) 寻找网上有关译文的评论,进一步发展学生的鉴赏能力和批判性思维。
(3) 利用电脑WORD功能,搜寻同义词,选择适合有关语境的高雅词汇,提高文学翻译的质量。
(4) 利用Google ,查询词组搭配的频率,以确定其正确性和地道程度。
(5) 利用Google 确定语法结构的正确性或常用程度。鉴于非重点大学学生的语言基本功不足,师资能力有限,大力开发现代教育技术,不失为一种有效的补偿办法。
现以我们对于2017 年八级考试汉译英的教学为例加以说明。原汉语如下:(暮色中,河湾里落满云霞,与天际的颜色混合在一起,分不清哪是流云哪是水湾。)也就在这一幅绚烂的图画旁边,在河湾之畔,一群羊正在低头觅食。它们几乎没有一个顾得上抬起头来,看一眼这美丽的黄昏。也许它们要抓紧时间,在即将回家的最后一刻再次咀嚼。这是黄河滩上的一幕。牧羊人不见了,他不知在何处歇息。只有这些生灵自由自在地享受着这个黄昏。这儿水草肥美,让它们长得肥滚滚的。如果走近了,你会发现它们洁白的牙齿,以及那丰富而单纯的表情。(笔者添加了下划线,供下文略论用。)1 利用网络搜索各种译文,供学生略论、借鉴、改进首先,学生在自己动手翻译之前,可以上网搜寻到以下各种参考译文。检索办法:键入原文中有鲜明特色的词语,如“河湾里落满云霞”,以及部分可能的英文,如cloud。若键入没有特色的词语,如“暮色中”,Google 中出现的项目会太多,不便寻找。加入英文单词,便于使英译文在Google 中尽早出现。由于有些人喜欢在自己的博客中发表译文,如果先输入“博客”两字,也有利于查找。我们查找到了多种译文,有些本文不需略论的译文不列入,现仅列入以下三种译文:网上译文1 (笔者修改了个别不值得评论的明显笔误) :Beside this picture with profusions of colors ,a group of sheepare lowing their heads ,eating by the river bank. Hardly any of themwould spare some time to raise their eyes to have a glance at thebeautiful dusk. They are , perhaps , taking use of every minute toenjoy their last chew before being driven home. This is a picture ofthe Yellow River bank ,in which the shepherd disappears ,and no oneknows where he is resting himself . Only the sheep ,however ,as freecreatures , are joyfully appreciating the dusk.
