Abstract
The core concept of Dynamic Equivalence Theory is “functional equivalence” which requires functional equivalence between two languages, instead of rigid corresponding on the surfaces of the text. This theory aims to set a standard in the rendering between the source language and the target language, and reduce the differences. According to Nida’s translation theory, dealing with the differences of cultures is related closely with the process of translating the source language to target language form meaning to style. Only when the target text represents the source text from language forms to cultural connotation, could a translation be called an excellent work. This paper makes comparative analysis between the two different Chinese versions of The Prince and the Pauper from the perspective of Nida’s Dynamic Equivalence Theory. It aims at helping readers better understand the deeper meaning of this novel. The author thinks the practical application in translation works could well eliminate the misunderstanding caused by different cultures, which is worthy of studying for translators and readers.

1 Introduction
With the rapid increasing of economic globalization, cultural globalization has gradually drawn people’s attention. Due to the inalienability of culture and economy, one direct result of economic globalization is cultural globalization. And language, as the carrier of culture, plays an important role in cultural exchange, thus people pay much more attention to the translation of languages.
