This study was organized with aims to discover life satisfaction and participation motive for cultural and art activities of adults as well as analyzing the correlation between the two sides in search for keeping constant the cultural and art activities and provide all material necessary to take improvement-oriented steps towards developing cultural and art performances. In addition, it has signification to provide data showing how life satisfaction can affect activation of, maintaining, and continuing human performances. Subjects of study were chosen among 20/ adults who are involved in cultural arts, have been involved in arts but from nonprofit organization, and those with non-related majors. The research data was collected with emails, and online surveys distributed ut to cultural and art activities participants, amateur groups, college clubs, office worker clubs who could do more than pay single visits to concerts and museums but could be involved in long-term programs such as in orchestra, plays and choirs. However, there was a large number of dismissal items among the hypothesis tests on the correlation between life satisfaction and the participation in cultural and arts activities. Accordingly, this study has added qualitative research through in - depth interviews that provide depth and concrete depiction of precise situations, context of people, interaction and activities. The collected data utilized the SPSS statistical program, and in order to grasp descriptive statistics quantity and correlation of the prime variables Pearson's correlation analysis was implemented. Moreover Regression analysis was used to verify the influence of life satisfaction on participation motive. Also, in order to analyze the results of the previous quantitative research, the necessary data for in - depth interviews were obtained through analysis of related literature and previous studies, and semi - structured interviews were conducted among various forms of in - depth interviews. With the process mentioned above this study has drawn the conclusion below. First, sociodemographic characteristics of subjects of study revealed there were mostly women in their twenties and jobs held in specialized jobs, office jobs, and students. There were graduates or prospective graduates of 4-year universities with high-level of education and groups with average monthly income of 1 million won (KRN \) or monthly income between 2 million – 3 million won (KRN\) and most of the subjects were unmarried. Second, the results of research analyzing life satisfaction showed among the subdomain scope that relationship with friends area, autonomy and sense of self area at the top of the ranks, and work area and economic area at the lowest level of satisfaction. In-depth interview results also showed positive responses in relationship with family and friends area, and expressed dissatisfaction with work area. This result indicates that the relationship with other people and social life have a great influence on individual psychology. Third, participation motive for cultural and art activities indicated per area to grow interest of oneself, to interact with others, to achieve sense of accomplishment, and to relieve stress and tension as the reasons for getting involved in cultural and art activities. Fourth, Fourth, the motivation for adults to participate in cultural and arts activities for the first time and the motivation to maintain current activities have changed. This explains the sense of belonging in a society that I could not feel before, interact with others, and the quality of own life are energic and active, and satisfied with participation in the activities, and willing to maintain this activity in the future. Fifth, the correlation analysis of life satisfaction and participation motive generally resulted in positive (/) effects and every motive revealed biggest influence in autonomous and sense of self. In comparison economic area gave no heed of correlation to every motive. This study discloses how psychological factors and external factors come into crucial variables upon cultural and art activities according to life satisfaction. This holds the power in explaining life of adults, their satisfaction in lifestyle, and psychological effects at the same time proves the need for reinforcing motivational programs to bring about interests to actively take part in cultural and art activities while expanding such approaches systematically. Furthermore, taking into consideration how higher satisfaction in areas of family and relatives and areas of autonomous and sense of self among many fields of life satisfaction seem to take positive effects on participation motives for cultural art activities, improvement in quality of life among peripersonal relationships and development of activities that play the role of cultural art functions to allow immersion of self-realization must be provided. The study looks forward to provide implications for studies on cultural and arts activities and participation motives henceforth.
